At our Shaolin Self Defense Center, we are focused on teaching Shaolin as a safe way to defend yourself. We emphasize that students should only use the physical aspects of Martial Arts in a dojo or when facing bodily harm.

On our blue mats, we focus on the physical movements, but we also build strength in the body and the mind through our five school rules:

Respect

Respect ourselves and others. Treat others how we would like to be treated.

Self-Discipline

Understand and act on what is right in a way that is unaffected by our situation. Take appropriate action without being told what to do.

Effort

Give our best to ourselves and our practice, physically and mentally.

Integrity

Maintain honest standards for ourselves and others.

Self-Control

Regulate our behavior in the present situation.

We have a well-rounded curriculum for effective and safe practice for anyone interested in learning Shaolin. Our Sanseis are constantly expanding their knowledge of Martial Arts by learning how different forms and movements affect the body in different ways.

Sansei Bill has been practicing for over 30 years. He is a sixth-degree black belt and a Doctor of Chiropractic. This extensive knowledge of the human form helps him understand and use Shaolin. Sansei Bill is continuously attending seminars and reading new books to understand Shaolin in new ways and to pass this knowledge on to others.
